Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and Nike standing right in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, KP. SC 29.1b. WSM 893. Fresh and attractive. Partially toned, otherwise, extremely fine.


This is very probably the earliest issue of Seleukeia Pieria after its foundation by Seleukos I in April 300 BC.
